MILES KENOBBIE - BATTERY COORDINATOR / TENOR TECHNICIAN

Miles marched at Breakthrough Indoor Percussion for three years (2013-2015). His other marching experience consists of two years with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (2014 & 2015), two years with the Sun Devil College Marching Band (2014 & 2015), four years with Riverside City College (2016-2019), and two years with The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps (2016 & 2017). He graduated from ASU with a Digital Culture (Music Concentration) Major in 2018. He has taught at DCI groups such at The Academy and The Cavaliers, is currently teaching at Arizona State University, and is also the Percussion Caption Head at Gilbert High School. Besides playing and teaching drums, Miles enjoys creating electronic music in his spare time, in hopes of starting an electronic music composition/production career.

MARIO PROFITA - SNARE consultant

This is Mario’s third year teaching at Breakthrough Indoor. Mario’s marching experience includes; Fusion Indoor, POA at UofA, Breakthough Indoor, Pacific Crest, POW percussion, Blue Knights, and Pulse percussion. Mario’s teaching history includes several high schools and middle schools in Arizona, and Pacific Crest. Mario also enjoys long walks on the beach and listening to a quality diddle.

RICHARD DZNURAK - SNARE Technician

Richard is a percussion educator based in Chandler, AZ. His history of playing music started at the age of 8, and he found his passion in the marching arts over at Santan Jr High. After graduating from Hamilton High School, Richard went on to march snare at ASU SDMB(2014, 2016), Breakthrough Indoor Percussion(2015-2017), and POW Percussion(2018-2019). As an educator, Richard has helped influence students for about 9 years. Starting in high school with Santan Indoor Percussion, he went on to help out schools all across Phoenix, AZ such as: Vista Grande High School, Hamilton High School, Horizon High School, and Campo Verde High School to name a few. This is his 2nd year with us here at Breakthrough Percussion.

EVAN SOLOMON - Bass TECHNICIAN

Evan marched with Breakthrough for four years before joining our instructional staff last season. His other marching experience includes the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and the ASU Sun Devil Marching Band. In addition to teaching Breakthrough, he has previously served as an educator for both Campo Verde High School and Mesa High School. Evan graduated from ASU this past spring and has recently taken a job as a legal assistant with a law firm downtown.

Anthony cortez - snare TECHNICIAN

Anthony Cortez is an active performer and educator from Mesa, Arizona. Anthony has been a part of Arizona’s marching percussion scene having marched 3 seasons at Breakthrough Percussion (15-17) and 2 seasons of Arizona State’s SDMB. Along with that, he has toured 2 seasons with the Oregon Crusaders (17-18) and has most recently been a part of WGI World Finalist ensemble Dark Sky Percussion (18-19). Anthony has also taught a variety of high schools and ensembles in the valley since 2015. Aside from marching percussion, Anthony has a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from Arizona State and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Drum Set Performance from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California.

Hugo Segovia - tenor TECHNICIAN

Hugo Segovia is from Casa Grande AZ and graduated from CGUHS in 2015, marching 3 years on the tenor drums. He was also part of the 2016 BTQ, his first independent group in the open class division. His other marching experiences include the Sun Devil Marching Band (2016 & 2017), POW Percussion (2017 & 2019), and The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (2018) as a rook-out. This is Hugo’s first year on staff!

Chris Gregory - Tenor Technician

Chris Gregory is excited to return to BT for his second year as a Tenor technician! His marching experience includes The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, POW Percussion, and The Sun Devil Marching Band. His teaching experience includes Peoria Unified School District Indoor, where in 2019 he helped lead the group to their first WGAZ championship title in their division. Chris remains passionate about world class Tenor instruction for all age ranges and skill levels. Chris is pursuing a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Arizona State. University with a focus in photovoltaic and electronic materials. Off the floor and outside of the lab, he enjoys exercising and experiencing the outdoors.

Joe Howard - cymbal technician

Joe marched at Breakthrough Indoor Percussion for two years (2018 & 2019). His other marching experience consists of three years with the Sun Devil Marching Band (2017-2019), and one year with Riverside City College (2020). He has taught at Perry High School and is currently teaching at Gilbert High School.
