MILES KENOBBIE
Battery Music Arranger

Miles Kenobbie marched at Breakthrough Indoor Percussion for three years (2013-2015). His other marching experience consists of two years with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (2014 & 2015), two years with the Sun Devil College Marching Band (2014 & 2015), four years with Riverside City College (2016-2019), and two years with The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps (2016 & 2017). He graduated from ASU with a Digital Culture (Music Concentration) Major in 2018. He has taught at DCI groups such at The Academy and The Cavaliers, is currently teaching at Arizona State University, and is also the Percussion Caption Head at Gilbert High School. Besides playing and teaching drums, Miles enjoys creating electronic music, DJing, and creating YouTube content on the side.

 

ROBERT PETERSON
Visual Drill Designer

Robert Peterson is a marching arts visual educator and drill writer based out of Mesa, Arizona.  Originally from New Jersey, he has taught and designed for various high school programs between AZ and NJ including Tolleson Union High School (AZ), Casa Grande HS Indoor Percussion (AZ), Bridgewater-Raritan HS Marching Band and Indoor Guard (NJ), Roxbury HS Marching Band and Indoor Percussion (NJ), and Monroe HS Marching Band (NJ). Robert currently teaches the marching bands at Gilbert High School and Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona. 

During the summer months, Robert teaches movement at The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps and has previously worked with several other DCI groups. These include Music City Drum & Bugle Corps, The Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, and Fusion “Core” Drum & Bugle Corps. As a performer, Robert marched with the Cadets from 2014-2015 and the Cadets2 in 2013

Robert is a graduate student at Arizona State University, pursuing a Masters of Music in Performance Pedagogy. Outside of his coursework Robert stays involved with ASU by teaching at the school’s marching band, The Sun Devil Marching Band. Prior to his graduate studies, Robert was an elementary music teacher in New Jersey.

 

BRYAN HUMMEL
Front Ensemble Music Arranger

Bryan Hummel is a Phoenix-based percussionist, music educator, and designer of marching arts activities. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Percussion Performance from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He obtained his Master’s degree in Percussion Performance from Arizona State University. He is currently Director of Bands for Desert Mountain High School and remains active in arranging and composing percussion scores for Marching Band, writing for indoor percussion ensembles, arranging Front Ensemble music for the Sun Devil Marching Band, and composing/designing wind books for Marching Band productions.

 

BRIAN McCORMICK
Visual Set Designer

Brian has been designing and contributing to the Pageantry Arts for over 25 years. He moved to Arizona in 2009 and began working with The Academy Winter Guard that later transitioned to Fenix Independent. In 2012, Fenix Independent went on to win a WGI Open Class Bronze Medal. Brian continued working with the Sun Devil Marching Band as well as Fenix Independent World and A Class teams for eight years. In 2017, Brian was inducted into the Louisiana/Mississippi Colorguard and Percussion Circuit Hall of Fame. Brian also worked with numerous high schools in the Arizona valley, including Mountain Ridge HS, Boulder Creek HS, and many more. In 2018, Brian was the Co-Director for Mountain Ridge HS Colorguard when they became the first Arizona high school to make WGI Open Class semifinals. He is currently the owner and creative director of Bleudog Designs where he fabricates custom props, carts, and other types of metalwork for clients across the country.
